OUR STORY
After nearly eight years of managing Putt’s Bar and Grill on Rochester's East Eighth Street, Monica Smith has transformed it into more than just a local dive bar. She has cultivated a tight-knit community of loyal friends among her customers, instilling in her the confidence to take a significant leap in her business journey.
On March 1, 2020, Monica's connection with the bar deepened as former owner Al Puttman handed over ownership to her.
Some things will remain constant: her unwavering commitment to the community and the continuation of the same beloved menu featuring her famous breakfasts, mini tacos, burgers, and fries. As a nine-year member of Abate, the bar will uphold Abate's traditions, actively participating in fundraising, food donations, and toy drives for Treasures for Kids, ensuring that all contributions benefit Fulton County directly and make a meaningful impact on the community. They will continue their participation in the Chili Cook-Off, Holiday Stroll, and Boo Fest.
Monica's lifelong connection to the Rochester area has made her a staunch advocate for local businesses and the community.
